Yep, and its cheaper to double or triple their size. Kinda what's going on with Piedmont.

The satellite base in MIA is pretty much a non-permanent base. All trips would start into and out of MIA. No dead heading into or out of MIA. This is simply voluntary for the people that live in or around MIA.

So, every month you would have to bid to get MIA and if you don't get it then you are still based where you are. Details are not finalized yet so everything is pretty much up in the air.

I would venture a guess that if Envoy gets a satellite MIA base that will go very senior as well.
cf109- If by SA you mean Silver then no- i haven't looked into them before, but I will be checking them out now.
Otherwise I may have no choice but to commute.
Envoy's Satellite base in MIA is likely to go senior. All the people living in MIA and San Juan will probably bid it. All I know is that I hate getting called out on reserve to cover Republic's flying. Trying to dead head out of FL is a pain.

Apparently BB is saying flow is coming. Not pref interviews, but flow. Either to AA, UA, or both. I call bs, especially with AA 70% of classes being composed of WO pilots already. And UA has said they never really wanted flow. The best they have is pref interviews for commutair pilots. But has anyone else heard this?

You're right I can't see that happening with American. I can't see it happening at Delta either. Delta has Endeavor & Compass to make sure staffing is good before even worrying about Republic. Plus they have a legal issues with Republic right now.

The only Major I can see it happening with is United. But I don't think United will unless they buy a majority stake in Republic. Don't see that happening either.

Yes, it might that BB is BS'ing because they still aren't getting anyone to come there even with the new contract.

A full flow will only happen when a major buys Republic.

I do not think any regional who has FFD contracts with multiple legacies will see a SSP/Flow with any legacy carrier. That is why I think CommutAir came out of left field with their SSP, they were the only UAX carrier who only flew UAX feed.

Compass isn't wholly owned and their flow is almost exhausted.

I wouldn't be so sure of that if I were you. A month ago the conventional wisdom was that UAL had no interest in a flow. Remember it's not what they say it's what they do that counts. The big three are jostling to secure feed and there's no telling what they might do.

Fair enough, I would never say never in this industry.

However, why go through the effort of standing up a 145 program at CommutAir and starting an SSP when there were plenty of existing carriers with 145 programs? (XJT, TSA, etc.)

An SSP/Flow to secure staffing for feed only makes sense if those pilots you are bringing in are solely there to support your feed. If UAL agreed to a SSP with Republic, those new hires could be used to fly AAL, UAL, or DAL feed. And they could exercise their seniority to bid bases that only support one codeshare partner.

Again, not going to say never, but I would be even more surprised than with UAL's recent 180* on flows/SSP.
