No way that will happen as long as they continue to fly for multiple legacies. Why would airline A let their regional do flying for airline B and C?

Can't work, say they dump all DL flying, united won't buy them and if they did then AA would fine them every time they cx, and vice versa if AA bought them. WO'S don't fly for other companies for obvious reasons.

They won't continue to fly for multiple legacies...that's exactly what happened to Pinnacle/Endeavor. They were flying for all the legacies (minus American as US Air was still separate then). They filed bankruptcy, Delta purchased them, and all the United/Us Air flying disappeared (a lot of it to republic with the Q's mind you). It can happen very easily.

Further, even if that were to change, why would United want to own them if RAH also serves their competition?

Also, the fact that RAH flies for the competition is an enticement to purchase them, not a drawback. If RAH files bankruptcy, and then United buys them, they can cancel the contracts with American and Delta and now those two legacies are scrambling to cover the lift that RAH previously provided. Plus United (or whoever buys them) gains a big chunk of pilots in a very competitive field.

Delta said the EXACT same thing right before they bought Pinnacle. Plans change.

This is contract posturing to try to scare pilots. DON'T FALL FOR IT. You never know what's going on behind the scenes.
I don't feel one bit bad for Delta. You outsource and this is what you ask for. Anyone could have seen this coming.
