Doesn't matter. You're already hired either way.

Is it really that easy, I'd rather stay here and interview her vs salt lake. Interview be the same material?

This thread is silly. Go to Republic and give it a try and see how you like flying in the regional world. If you don't want to take the time to spend 1 hour researching what is out there then just go to whoever calls first.

Hey Nantonaku- I HAVE done my research, and in fact spent a lot more than an hour. NOW I'm looking for the Professional Pilots opinion and an honest answer which was given until your post. if you read my original post, NO SARCASM PLEASE. It's people like you that give these threads a bad name. Thanks for your help.

Sounds about right. I wouldn't go back to RAH if it was the last regional in the industry.

I was there for a couple of years and made the best of it. Great crews and I had some good times on overnights.

Everything else was terrible though, pay, schedule, and QOL all sucked. The big problem with RAH is that they are shrinking so you won't upgrade and they don't have a flow program anywhere so you'll be a career FO at $36/hr. The pilots just voted no on the second contract offer (and rightfully so it was terrible) which means they'll still be negotiating for at least another two years or more.

I honestly think that in they're desperation and cancelled flights they may end up going into BK and getting bought by another carrier. The cx's have gotten so bad there that DL, AA, and United are ****ed and will probably send flying somewhere else (think Mesa, SKYW, Expressjet, etc). Both of these things will be REALLY bad for your seniority and upgrade which is what you need to enjoy life and move forward to a career company like United, DL, JetBlue, Atlas, FedEx, AA etc.

A better option (and some may disagree) is Compass. They have a decent contract (better than Mesa) with a VERY quick upgrade right now. You'll make more there as an FO with a much better schedule. I do hate to recommend commuting, I can't imagine ORD-LAX (the junior base) or ORD-MSP to be that unbearable. The 170 type is solid gold if you want to go fly and make the big bucks in China as well.

If your willing to pack up and move to a place like Roanoke, VA or Salisbury, MD, Piedmont is selling guys on a 3-4 year flow to AA. I have no idea if that is true, but if it is, I'd strongly consider it for a new guy starting out.

Again, all regionals suck. And unfortunately, if you want to fly for a Legacy you'll probably have to bite the bullet at one. But I wouldn't recommend RAH.

Good luck in your decision.

Thank you VERY much for your honest opinion. Interviews this week with TSA and GoJet. We will see what happens

I mean, I would go to Skywest or Envoy if you want to stay in Chicago. Avoid Republic. I don't know much about TSA. I have several friends at GoJet and none seem too happy with the place. If you don't mint commuting, look into any of the regionals experiencing growth right now. If it were me personally, I would be looking pretty hard at Piedmont and their Philly base.
