Interview: passed. Simulator: passed. Class date: pending. I don't see anything wrong with working for RAH. And yes, I AM the guy who flew from Daytona Beach to Miami. Who are you anyways?

If you don't see anything wrong after reading this thread and a few other like it in February then I question your judgment.

To the RAH prospects , here's the pros and cons about working here:
- 190s : They will show the posters, business cards , etc. and they will bring an airplane to a marketing event for you. They don't tell you that the airplanes are going away Aug. 2015 and as a new hire you won't get typed in it.
The fact that you will get paid the same lousy rate flying 190s as flying 145s tells you right there how management sees you.
- Cancellation pay: None, nada , zilch.. 23x75 is hard enough to live on, when you have cancellations, you will not even see that. Go to a place where they have leg per leg cancellation pay
- Upgrade times: Well, we are only 30-40 pilots away from making the jump from 2008 hires to 2011 hires. We are losing lots of pilots (more on that later) Despite all that, they are not able to hire enough FOs, but the management is so screwed up they won't admit they have a problem hiring people.
- People are leaving : Good thing, but we also parked bunch of 140s and 145s last year. They wanted to park DL 145s this year , but DL wanted us to run them till the end of the contract period. So they are stuck in a really bad place. They won't renew the contract and that will give management a small relief to the management in terms of staffing.
- Complete disregard for personal life:
You cannot drop trips. You have a wedding of a family member, good luck getting it off. I called off two trips for family member's medical condition and now i have verbal warning on my file. The LOA department that responds to you every other week, didn't like my paperwork.
- Complete disregard for laws :
Good luck getting a FMLA leave approved. This is a federal program but the airline doesn't care about it. They keep denying your requests.
- CEO that is religious , but not:
I have a problem with people who use God's name left and right. BB uses God to convince stupid people from Midwest so that he can lure them into his scam. He is evil, biggest anti-christ , etc.
- Ever changing bases:
In 10 years I think we went through 15 bases, if not more.
- No real commuting clause:
Say you were at your sisters house in DCA. Instead of Central FL, you commuted to MIA from DCA, but the weather got your commute plans screwed up. You call crew scheduling and they say "You cannot use commuter clause, because you were not commuting from your domicile". It sounds stupid, but it is true.. By the way enjoy another occurance on your records.
- Occurrence policy :
You call in sick, you get dinged. You have a commuter clause, you get dinged.. You called in fatigued, you get dinged.. You refuse to extend Far 117 rules, you get dinged.
I can list another 10 reasons for not to come to RAH.. but I gotto go to work now

Where are the teamsters on this?!?!
Mesa won't touch pilots on sick calls - they have lost in arbitration with the union over this. Zero discipline, no calls, no warnings, nothing.
If I was a RAH pilot who had been disciplined in any shape or form over sick calls I would be down the teamsters throat!
People hate on ALPA, but they sure do a good job protecting us here at MAG.

Ha ha....management just sent out a memo saying they will pay an extra $30 for captains and $15 for FOs (per hour) if we pick up flights on our day off. They are that desperate.........
They already bought back my vacation week for March for $2500. Wonder what they will do in the summer. Miami flights getting canceled a lot. Heard from a crew a couple of days ago, they repositioned an airplane from ATL to MIA after it sat at ATL for 3 days, while NOT making any money. Now its sitting in MIA. Apparently, they cannot staff the American flying out of MIA.
I have been holding out for 200% (when they call me on my day off) and have got them to give it up 3 times already (as an FO). Its common for captains to be offered the 200%. Time to up my rate to 300%. F U, pay me.
All FOs, please start pushing for 200% or better........
