This guy can't be serious. The 175 is a cool plane you say? Look up SJS. There is a reason they keep calling you. Cash flow not an issue? How about never being home, worrying about getting fired for standing up for yourself or busting a checkride for rocking the boat? These are a few things you should be considering.

This is probably the dooshiest thread title I've seen in a while, and that's saying something.
That said, I'll give Baretta01 credit for playing along. Do you homework man, do your homework.
Question number 1: where do you live, or want to live? Start there and work backwards. Your life will be so much better if you do.

If you are doing it because of the Miami base then I can see it. People can cry all they want about how which regional sucks. Every reagional has it's downfalls. I know guys at Republic that like where they are and are flying a lot. These are people that just got hired there this past year. The company is very profitable and the pilots can use that during their on going contract negotiations. Is it the best place to be. I'll say a big fat no. Things change everyday in this industry. The worst regional today is the best one tomorrow. Please do research though. Go with a company that you respect and feel you have a good future. Also not commuting is a plus. There is a 121 turboprop operator in my home town. Even though people think I'm crazy, I would have went there just not to commute but I'm where im at and I just deal with the commute.

I'll be brutally honest: didn't do any prior 121 research....they were calling continuously, and I finally bit to fly up for an interview. Cash flow won't be an issue(but still stings a little knowing the difference from previous job); I've spent a few years saving heavily. The 175(plus the 190 type) looks to be an incredible plane...I know it's a cheesy reason but hey. No training contract. Bonus. Ability to live wherever I like and commute to work was a BIG one.
I knew the regionals would suck, so I figured stop pouting and just get on with one. I know RAH is very short staffed, so I figured the possibility of advancing in seniority might be a possibility as people are starting to get hired on by the majors. They also are paying for ATP-CTP and ATP written.

I really do appreciate the feedback here. It is all very interesting. As I said before, I'm going into this knowing the next few years are going to be brutal. Are there other options, sure. But my primary goal is/was to get in, work hard, hopefully move up in seniority, and not waste any more time. Perhaps the 2000hrs of dual was clouding my judgement....lol!?
