RAH is not great...especially if you have to commute. But going to Mesa at this point is simply stupid. They have a history of losing contracts (google it) and I wouldn't be surprised if they were one of the first regional airlines to have to close their doors for good in this new climate. You can only conduct phone interviews and offer class dates for so long before your washout rate leaves big holes in your training pipeline. Holes that cannot be filled at any cost. In order to take advantage of the "quick upgrade" you needed to be on property at Mesa a year ago. Anyone showing up for class now is a shiny jet sucker. Before anyone points it out, I know that is not what SJS stands for.

In my opinion, they all suck. My reason for going to RAH, I've flown for a regional years ago, flew corporate for about 8 years, not getting any bites with the big boys, and figured it's worth the risk to see what happens with a current 121 gig on the top of the resume. Where I live I will have multiple options to commute, am single with no kids, not starving and the most important, went to the airport a few weeks ago to fly and had a nice conversation with the crew who was preflighting my plane that they just bought!!!

"If something goes wrong you can forget the 1500 hour rule, it'll be the 2 shuttle missions and 3000 hours of F18 time rule."
Seriously, getting to where a commute might be the most dangerous part of the job!!!
