Epic!
10 days in including the weekend is the average, give or take a day. Most don't understand the concept of a bonus being taxed in a higher bracket. You will get a lot of it back when you file your taxes. Most of my FO's break 30k their first year with the bonus and per diem (no OT pick ups).

Haha, more of an excuse to consume cold snacks than dedication!!! I liked the saints better when we lost all the time, only thing we worried about was what time the bar opened. Now we have to actually pay attention!!!

Really, 30k. First off, you don't count the crappy per diem rah pays as part of your pay, it is a reimbursement of expenses and it doesn't even do that. Second, if you can only hold reserve, they will fly you up to your gaureentee, give or take a few hours. You will be used more than Stiffler's mom while on reserve but never make money. 20k is a very realistic number unless you want to bust a55 and grouble for opentime and be gone all month. Don't let anyone fool you. I lived the nightmare.

Credited over 100 hours a month when on reserve and that was the norm on reserve. 30 would be a good estimate with the bonus first year maybe a grand high though.
Never picked up a day of open time or worked overtime. True they work the sh@& out of you but you do go wayy over guarantee.

The rsv stories go both ways. I will say though, that the highest credit I've ever had has been on rsv. Furthermore, the most flexible sked and days off/credit ratio was optimal on rsv.
Just keep in mind that most fo's at RAH tend to whine.A LOT.

Ah well after being hired 15 months ago at Mesa I'm upgrading here next month....
Call that SJS if you want... I'll call it more smarts with a bit of luck.
Back to the thread ... I was also one of the guys that when on RSV at RAH I credit 90+ hours each month.

They pay for hotel, double occupancy in training, you're on 75 hour guarantee while in training, uniforms are payroll deduct, healthcare is paid from day one.
As to hours on guarantee, when you're Jr, you'll get 90-100 hours a month and used nearly every day. So good pay, but 11 days off. As there are 5-6 guys jr to you in base, you'll get 2-4 days of RSV that go unused, and not break guarantee. That was my experience.
If you live in base, those unused days are great. Commuting like I did, they sucked.
