Those are my thoughts exactly. We will have as many airplanes as we can staff. IMHO it looks like BB is trying to do exactly what he says he is (I don't trust him either though). It makes excellent business sense to try to streamline the operation down by staffing the most profitable airplanes and getting rid of excessive certificates (thus overhead).

Okay Brosef... he said himself that he is going to consolidate down to two certificates and be left with only the 170/5 and Q400. So...any smart person can figure out that would be parking the 145's and 190's, which he also said would happen.... so let's see, that's not exactly growth, is it? You have roughly 30 175 yet to be delivered of the firm orders and 68 145's and 10 190's... 78-30 is a net loss of 48 aircraft.
"You all are aware that Republic currently operates under three distinct operating certificates: Chautauqua, Republic and Shuttle America. Additionally, we operate four aircraft fleets: E140s/E145s; E170s/E175s; E190s; and Q400s. Today we announced our intent to Simplify and Streamline both our operating structure and our fleet. Specifically, we intend to consolidate down to two operating certificates and are planning for the orderly wind down of our E140/E145 and E190 aircraft assets."

Perhaps even better said, we do not have a vision of streamlining and simplifying our business that results in fewer total aircraft at Republic by the end of 2016 than we have on the property today. Well, at least that is our plan, and that’s what I had intended to convey in my earlier letter. I hope this clears away any confusion I may have unintentionally created. -BB

No CEO is ever going to admit that "we're going to intentionally lose business but not seek any new business" (which was what the original email seemed to convey) and keep their job. So he had to backtrack to keep investors and employees from panicking.

A) we do not have a vision resulting in fewer
B) we will maintain an = feet size
Only one is clear, they proof read these letters, hard to believe anything other than an unintended consequence slipped out.
