Yes it does say the 145s are going but also watch his latest investor's meeting in NYC and see how he defends the 50 seaters. For the first time, I think he's right. There is and will be a market for 50 seaters. Perhaps, not as much of a market as we see today but they will still be needed.
Someone in our union message board posted about the possible scope we have at republic and shuttle in regard to 'no more than 76 seats'. If that's true, he could very well merge republic and shuttle, keep some of the 145s and also bring the C series into CHQ certificate (if we ever get them).
I've seen our 140's parked in SDF for a while. Something tells me if we wanted to get rid of them, they'd be in Arizona by now!
But really, who knows!!

The 140s have been going to the desert. That process started weeks ago.

I'm currently on an SDF overnight an counted 8 ERJs, some shorter than others... I can't tell at a glance what constitutes a 135/140, but there were 8 total, most in COnnection paint, one blue tail.

He can actually reduce the number of certificates to one if he wants to but he would like to keep his options open, just in case someone decides to release the scope beyond 76 seats.
That also doesn't mean that 50 seaters are going away. He can operate the 50 seaters in Shuttle or Republic certificates if he wants to.
I think this is a smart move from investor perspective. Not necessarily from the number of airplanes in the fleet perspective. I think he is going to have a hard time hiring for the Q400 operation big time. They are still caught with their heads stuck in the sand on this.

He cant combine shuttle and republic right now. The usair 175s violate the scope clauses on shuttle. That may change in the future, but as of now, it cant happen

How about merging Shuttle into the CHQ Certificate? The 145's go completely away in 2016... The 190's fall off the Republic certificate at the end of the Caeser's contract or are replaced with new 175's from the additional options we have.
