I do find it funny they compare CA rates to AA.. B6 pays better and AA in 2018 @ 12 years will be $159 an hour. Year 2 E190 will be over $140.....
I'll take your bet as well.

Also, your SAP qualifier states "if done correctly." Therein lies the problem...the company will immediately begin working to erode all giveaways using the legalese and ambiguous statements that have been strategically placed in the contract.

No.

I agree. I didn't spend too much time reading it, but it mentioned "industry leading" first year pay? I didn't see a number. Based on contractual pay raises, for someone hired at Horizon TODAY, this would be the scale:

29.67
40.78
42.61
44.48
46.41
47.67
48.92
50.17

These rates were negotiated in 2012. There's no reason any current contract should be lower than a contract negotiated in 2012.
All of these pay rates need to be multiplied by 11 then divided by 12 to get the correct pay rates. Unless horizon went to 12 bidding periods per year recently.

pay rate divided by 12 and multiplied by 11.

29.67 = 27.20
40.78 = 37.38
42.61 = 39.05

Still way better. I wonder why Alaska has always paid.top dollar for their feed? I'm sure the product is much better. RAH is a canceling machine.

Incorrect. We have a 35-day bid period, but our minimum guarantee is adjusted to compensate for that. Here's the math:

Reserve and composite min guarantee is 86.3 hours. Line holder min guarantee is 80.3 hours.

86.3/35 days is 2.47 hours per day, or 899.99 hours per year.
80.3/35 days is 2.29 hours per day, or 837.41 hours per year.

For a 12-bid system with the common min guarantee of 75 hours:

75 per bid times 12 bids = 900 hours per year.

Some other companies also have slightly lower min guarantee for line holders. Eagle is an example, with 72.

72 per bid times 12 bids = 864 hours per year.

So Horizon is short by .01 hours of min guarantee per year for a reserve or composite line holder. Normal line holders do credit slightly less. For the record, on a composite line, my per-bid credit has been up around 100 before any additional flying. Corrected for a 12-bid cycle, that would be around 87 hours per bid.

Our 35-day bid period certainly does take a little getting used to, (mainly the pay schedule) but it doesn't take money out of your pocket unless you choose for that to happen.
