That doesn't make sense unless they already decided on sending it to the pilots for a vote. So I'm lost as to what exactly they are voting on. The MEC should listen to their pilot group and what they want.

The Eboard receives a sales pitch from the Negotiating Committee...they'll review it for a few days then make a recommendation to the pilot group. They can approve, disapprove, or neither. Whatever they choose, it will go to the pilots for a vote anyway.

And this
EXCLUSIVE: American Airlines becomes second airline to bump workers' wages ? but JetBlue not budging yet - NY Daily News
So managements beat down pilots for a decade or two and won't give raises, but cave after a month or two of being pressured to give raises to the cleaners?

1. A "yes" vote recommendation
2. A "no" vote recommendation or
3. No comment from the Eboard
So, again, soliciting the opinions of the pilot group at this point would serve absolutely no purpose.

Having the CS300 at any airline except a major airline only delays your departure from this painful regional airline life. Buy bringing this airplane on board, you are simply adding another ladder rung to this long and painful climb. You are nearly there! Most of you are going to the big show, its a done deal! You will be there before you know it. What you do now speaks to the future of Regional airlines and those pilots who come after you.
And once you do arrive at the big show, you most certainly are going to be ****ed when those CS300's start arriving at your former airlines. Further you will be screaming at your former selves who now occupy the seat you used to for dragging the industry pay down at the major airline.
100 seat airplanes are a big mistake at the regional level. Think about it, this logic is sound!
If no CS300 flying can be done at Republic, the big boys will have no choice but to do this flying themselves.
