Default Republic $70M 2Q profit

Republic reports $70.3 million profit in 2Q | Finance & Data content from ATWOnline

Yea, I see exactly why they can't afford to pay pilots more.

thats because no one is writing up broken planes in out station or even in base, stop dropping the break early, or calling out fatigued on their last turn when they should be. fly the book and that should help. when their on time hits zero is when they will start thinking about paying their pilots something they can live off of. until then all the junior guys can enjoy sleeping in the airport with their food stamps after working 18 days on reserve only getting paid 75 a month.

Default Republic $70M 2Q profit

Two things here....
First, I'm not sure where Air Transport World got that 70M figure. According to NASDAQ, it was 24.6M over 20M same quarter last year. Still a huge increase and does not justify their refusal to pay pilots a decent wage.

Secondly, this news may bode well for our upcoming negotiations. Profits this large with an increase of 25% over a year will become a strong leverage point for the union in front of the NMB. It will be difficult for the company to continue to justify these wages with such an increase.

They made 25 million and 14 million was on the Frontier side of the house, I would expect them to report broke over the next 2-3 quarters as the sale of frontier happens.

"Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (Republic Airlines 2nd) (Indianapolis) reported diluted earnings per share of $0.46, which is a 15.0% increase from the $0.40 per diluted share result in the second quarter of 2012. Net income increased 23.0% to $24.6 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2013, compared to net income of $20.0 million for the same period last year. Operating revenues totaled $664.4 million, a decrease of 8.7%, compared to $728.1 million for the second quarter of 2012."

"For the quarter ended June 30, 2013, Frontier Airlines (2nd) (Denver) posted pre-tax income of $13.7 million, which is down slightly from $14.1 million of pre-tax income for the quarter ended June 30, 2012."

While I realize you are reminding your fellow crew members to put an emphasis on safety, such comments on a public message board could be misconstrued as promoting some sort of work action. Tread carefully!
