Rigs are a beautiful thing... Good luck out there guys

What a DB. Do you get punched a lot by your FO's? Do you frequently have FO's trading away their trips with you?

No one cares what kind of plane you fly. It's all about QOL.

I was living in DFW prior to being hired by Eagle and chose them for the reason of living in base. Well when I showed up for class the guy 1 number senior to me took the last E-145 slot (just prior to taking all the CRJs out of DFW) and I was assigned the CRJ-700 out of LGA. Spent 2 months in LGA on reserve commuting then transferred to ORD and held a line when I first transferred. Once AMR declared bankrupcy I was able to proffer to displace off of the CRJ to the EMB in DFW. Did I enjoy my time flying the CRJ? sure. But the airplane you fly should not be a factor in your choices of employers. I love being based at home and have no complaints about my choice. I do wish I made more money but that's the reality of all regional pilots.

QOL is what it is all about.

the contract is complete bs at republic, compared my schedule with some one at express and I would have gotten an extra 15 hours of pay last month working there.

Yea, the choice is yours. Max FO pay on a 99 seat aircraft, $36 an hour and NO cancelation pay. Max FO pay on a 50 seater, $44 an hour WITH cancelation pay, double the 401K contribution, more soft time provisions than most majors, best vacation rules in the industry, complete control of your schedule if you understand the system, ect. What a joke dude, you are completely clueless.

Accurate- the only reason to take Rah is if you lived in one of the bases and wanted to hold a line quicker- Commuting for any regional is aweful.
Good luck guys

Yea because the 50 seater is what all the majors want us contractors to be flying. LOL enjoy that super pay for your 50 seater as they get sent to the desert. Make no mistake regionals will shrink just as the majors have. Anyone who actually thinks your company will need the same number of pilots in the future as they do today is a fool. That goes for any regional with 50 seaters btw

The only people who know what the future of any airline is are the directors and senior executives. They are the ones who are planning future changes for their company. All of this hand-wringing over who will be around two years from now is pointless unless you are one of the above mentioned people.

A smart pilot once said that you will know if you made the right choices when you retire.
