Never too soon. I'll take what I'm making here, now over what I made as an 8 year 170/5 captain at RAH.

OP and others, stay away from RAH. You should only be tempted to work there if you currently live or desire to live in CMH or IND.

I can't decide which was worse there. Was it the needlessly aggressive and twisted management? Was it the immature and disorganized pilot group? Finally, was it the union leadership that wasn't even voted into office, that ran unopposed(due to the aforementioned immature and disorganized pilot group), and is chasing their own tail around because CM can't study or gets checkride jitters?

There is no circus sadder than the RAH circus. I may have turned my heat down this winter and doubled up the sweaters to stay warm with the pay cut I took, but I pity the poor bastards I left behind. I have nothing but joy in my life having seen RAH in my rear-view mirror.

EDIT: And I was a lucky one.

Neither.

If you would all stop applying and quit, mainline would hire you from day one.

Sounds like you're still miserable.

Cut him some slack, think about the FOs he had to put up with at RAH and the captains he has to fly with at airways!

Second, 75 hour monthly guarantee means exactly what is says. If you are available for all of your trips, whether you fly or not you get paid for at least 75 hours even if all your trips cancel for the whole month. It's that simple, period! If you don't believe me read your contract again or ask the union to explain it to you.
You know, if you're gonna try to be condescending, at least be correct. You are NOT cancellation protected "per day"...it's only for the "period of reassignment," which nearly always works in the company's favor..regardless, the cancelations that I've experienced have rarely involved re-assignment to other flying...if there's a reserve pilot who isn't gonna hit his 75 hour "guarantee," even if it's captain-on-captain flying, they'll put that person on it because it saves the company money...again, passing costs on to crew members.

Also, your monthly "guarantee" description is simplistic and misleading...you fail to describe the process via which trip trading, even if it moves your line value nowhere near 75 hours, also drops your guarantee. For the benefit of others, I'll provide an example: your awarded line is 90 hours, you trade some pairings with open time or another pilot that reduces your line value to 85 hours. If your month goes to hell through no fault of your own, you're only protected for 70 hours.

..and you weren't correct about a thing that I said. I didn't quote the contract, and never claimed that cancellation adjusted guarantee.

You'd have to be on chemicals to take a job at Expressjet.
