More than likely CRJ900's. Word on the street is that Eagle is still in negotiations with Bombardier to get a decent deal. Dan Garton, Eagle CEO, was riding in the jumpseat the other day and said they expect to start taking delivery of new aircraft 3rd quarter of next year.

If you are going to commute, make it as easy as possible and choose an airline that will have easy access. If you asked me and I lived in Orlando I would go to AE. You could theoretically drive to Miami (which is a growing and somewhat junior base) if needed or there are several "Quick" flights between MCO-MIA, because nothing is more annoying than getting done at noon and not getting home till midnight or the next day.

I've never been one to chase the upgrade so I went with the one that provided the best QOL, travel benefits, and the one place that I would still be at least somewhat happy with after 10-15 years if I needed to stay that long. I work to live, not live to work. I try to maximize my spending time with Friends and Family and have been blessed enough to travel a lot of the world with my wife during my time off.

I knew a guy that left Eagle for greener pastures and after a couple of different flying gigs after Eagle, he ended up at Republic. He says Eagle is by far a better place to be and he's kicking himself in the rear for leaving. Pay is by far worse, contract and work rules are worse, reserve rules are worse, training is worse and you have to travel all over the country during training to different locations that Republic has contracted out for different phases of training. At Eagle, you get great training all in-house in DFW at the same facilities that AA uses.

Yeah, because IND for Indoc and STL for ground/SIM takes you around the US, lol. This guy is right about pay but EGL will sit you hot reserve for 5 days straight.

I love how most people are telling everyone to run from RAH. Only Rah cheerleaders I see are the guys who got furloughed from EGL last year and went to Rah. Grudge eh?

Looks like good and bad on both sides here. Truth is, I won't know if I made the right call until a couple of years in.

If you live in Orlando, no question.. Eagle. Junior Miami base..

This is more important than you could ever imagine, commuting sucks, long commutes suck BAD. Orlando is driving distance in a pinch, or a VERY quick flight.

You must be new. How about Seattle for the Q? In the past we've done training in Houston, Montreal, Orlando, Charlotte, heck even France & Brazil. With a whole crapload of training events coming up, I think we'll be doing training in odd places again. Wherever there's an open Embraer sim, they'll send us. Just a byproduct of outsourced training.

Wow! Seattle, Orlando, even France & Brazil? That is awesome! That definitely sounds more exciting than Useless, Texas.
