Also I wanted to mention the 401k at Eagle has been pretty decent. If you are looking at the APC details where it says something like 6% or at Eagle 3-8 % depending on longevity.. there is more to that. You will have to dig deeper somewhere to see the real details. At Eagle it depends on longevity .. top end I think people are getting 75-80% of that 7-8%. Some airlines say a match up X percent but how much of a match of that percent is not always written on this website. There is usually a percent within a percent. Is it 100% of 6% at Republic? I don't know but any way last month I put in $1080 of my own money and Eagle matched it with $580..Over the past 14 years I am at about $177,000 in the ole 401k.. so some things you may not think about do matter. It will be different for someone starting now as the likliehood of being stuck at a regional (like us for the past decade )is lower. But if you do get stuck some things to consider.

At AA they are putting in a pure 14% of your income.. which is sweet. And I think it goes to 16% next year.

I started mine in August 2012 and today I have $1,800 with a $8% gain.

I do 7% pre-tax, I just saw a difference of $50 less in my check.

I would suggest that once the new hires get into second year pay, start the 401K

At RAH they match 100% of the first 2 1/2% for years 0-5, 4% years 6-13, and 6% for years 14+.

You pick base and equipment the first day of class. It is the first thing you do.

I'm leaning toward the EMJ. More planes and pilots mean more choices for trades and drop/pickups. Base preference at the moment: DFW, ORD, MIA, NYC.

CRJ might have slightly better pay on CA side. Not sure about the QOL difference between the two. Can anybody comment on that?

Yeah, scare 'em off! Good idea. The truth is, we will still be needed even after tomorrow.

regarding eagle, the union leadership here at eagle has made sure every nail on eagles coffin are in place and securely hammered in. Go to republic, the only pilots here supporting new hires to come to eagle are the ones that are junior and want someone below them for some security.

facts;
RAH 53 aircraft for aa feed.
AE parking 23 E135's, 4 E140's and 39 ATR's all by end of 2013.
RAH has 47 options for E175's for AA feed in addition to the 53 E175's.
AE will be parking the remainder E140's in 2014.
SKW in LAX about 19 aircraft for AA feed.
AE LAX crew displaced and aircraft sent to other bases. LAX aircraft were E140's, they will be gone in 2014.
EJT 13 aircraft feed in DFW for AA.
Another Feed contract for 30-35 for E175's coming. Rumor it will be Compass and in NY.

So yes come to AE then you can go to Republic when furloughed.

Everyone else in the AMR (AA/AE BK) have been told there fleet plan requirements for AA. AA, RAH, SKW and EJT know, the only fleet plan kept secret is Eagles. You can surmise for yourself where to go with these facts.
