My spelling does suck. But hey I'm English proficient. It says so on my license.
American is retarded. This industry is sucks. Let the whipsaw begin. Every regional will be flying a few AMERICAN EAGLE painted planes. While eagle does an awesome job for American and the money goes right back to American we get hosed.

However, I know a couple of new-hires and they have been telling indoc classes that they are hurting for pilots and to get friends to apply.

Laugh if you want, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised (as an escapee from Bedford's Flying Circus) if something like this is part of the end game for AMR. Do a CPA with Republic. Work out a deal to unload Eagle (which has had a "For Sale" sign in the window for quite some time now) on favorable terms. Bedford spins a deal with Embraer to take some of Eagle's little jets off his hands in favor of the new 175s. Heck, maybe he even arranges with Embraer to dump the CR7s from Eagle offshore and replace with MORE new 175s at sweetheart prices for fleet commonality.
It may very well not happen. But I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it did.

Doesn't CHQ have a bunch (25-30?) of ERJs coming offline soon with the expiration of a Delta Connection contract? If so, there's a significant source of staffing. Add that to modest attrition and I don't see RJET having a hard time finding pilots.
EDIT: According to Starship, the DCI contract isn't up til 2016. Thanks for the correction.

Doubtful, though an interesting idea.. More plausible is that Eagle gives up on hiring, as I hear they have big problems staffing new hire classes (even with the 5k) and gives up a ton of more flying to RAH thus forcing guys on the street. They then have no where to go other than RAH at year 1 disgusting pay and work rules.
