....and Rjet needs cheap new hires...not an SLI with hundreds of pilots with a lot of longevity.

Also, the company just took on $2bil in new debt and scored a huge CPA without buying anything other than new aircraft.

Tell me again why they would want Eagle?

The 2nd word in the thread's title is "opinion". I would guess that you're correct.

Show me where in the world RAH is planning on getting at least 500 new hires? They cant even staff their current flying right now.

To be fair, the original title of this thread was "Eagle to be sold to Republic." The post you quoted was posted BEFORE I changed the title of the thread.

Well, there are about to be 1500 pilots from pinnacle hitting the street and a lot of new hires are former Comair. The #2 guy from Comair just started flying the 170 at Republic.

So they're just going to skip over us "numbered" guys? That sucks.

See above....why would they take on pilots with longevity when they can find plenty of people from the ashes of other airlines?

I know two people that have interviewed at rjet that were turned down in recent weeks...they are not hurting for new hires.

Do I WISH they were? You're damned right I do.

There will not be 1500 pilots from Pinnacle on the street anytime soon. The company projects 0 this year. There will be guys leaving, but not 1500 "about" to hit the street.

it will take a couple of years for pinnacle to slow down. Also a lot of those "possible" furloughs will be mitigated by senior people going to majors. If RAH is finding new hires so easily why cant they get all their Q's up and running?
