Besides the loooong upgrade, I can't complain but I dont see many USA today crosswords overseas. I do enjoy my Honolulu overnights though. Saturday night in Waikiki beats west Texas overnights.

I got it now, thanks. So is this correct or not...SKW, RAH, XJT "stole" the American Eagle name or did AMR who owns AE decide to make available the American Eagle name to the newly agreeded upon lift from all the bankruptcy mess?

Not to be a stickler, but several at Eagle here "informed" me in tge past that flying that used to be done by AA pilots and now done by Eagle pilots really wasn't AA's as AMR owns the flying and not the pilots and decides who flies what if scope allows it. In other words no one owns any flying they do, if it can be done by others. I don't see any difference then in a name either as AMR owns their "brand" and if Eagle scope allows another to operate under that brand, Eagle pilots don't own it. AMERICAN EAGLE has only been an "airline" for 16 years and was born of the 16-year contract that invented it. Previous to that it was a group of essentially 4 seperate airlines and since that contract is dead and scope allows the re morph back into separates, AMR is doing what they can and there is no "American Eagle" as an individual airlines and no one has rights to be that airline individually.
Just as their is no individual "Delta Connection" or "United Express", there is no "American Eagle". That is the new future. Regional flying will always be sub-contract flying with cannibalistic properties.

This is the type of info I was hoping to get as I was not really sure how this whole thing is playing out for all parties involved. I Understand why the American Eagle Airlines pilots would be upset about this encroachment on their comfort zone. But ultimately it just sounds like the cards dealt to these pilots in the AMR bankruptcy are rather unfavorable to say the least. I am sorry to see your pilot group getting backdoored like this. Best of luck to you American Eagle Airlines pilots.
The cheapest pilot wins.........well, kinda.

If the name of your airline is nothing more than a brand, wait until Delta United and the rest license the brand to the lowest bidder. AMR is setting a new precedent and thus us the foot in the door just as baby jets for regionals was 20 years ago.

Actually it's not the same. As I see it once they created Eagle 16 years ago anybody on their pilot list flew as American Eagle. To this day pilots if executive airlines are in the master Eagle pilot seniority list and they operate as American Eagle. During those past 16 years when AMR contracted out flying as they did with TSA and CHQ the contractors used the American Connection brand.

The majority of regional pilots couldn't care less what "brand" their shiny and not so shiny jets have as long as it gets them to the captain seat and out as fast as possible. You'll find no loyalty in the regional pilot business anymore as its pilot-eat-pilot and any rationalization works. That's why many at Eagle told me the flying they now do that used to be AA's was never AA's or their pilots, but AMR's. Now the shoe is on the other foot and suddenly it's not so comfortable anymore. Again, its happening everywhere else and those on the acquisition end justify it and those on the other cry about the injustice. Sooner or later, you switch ends and go from justification to crying. The only thing new here, is that it's finally gotten around to American Eagle or what USED to be American Eagle.
