Republic Airways as a New Hire
#81
I haven't gone through the whole thread so I apologize if my questions have been answered. Is there any sort of pay in training? What are the chances of of getting the 170 as a new hire and holding DCA, GSO or ATL out of training? Do DCA and GSO bases seem to be long term for Republic (as in sticking around as crew bases for a while)? Thanks in advance.
There are no "safe" bases at republic they will close without warning for the most part DCA is safe. GSO is only a base because of the overnighting aircraft I would say it's the most fragile base we have but it's hanging on. ATL no longer has DL flying so it's a UA only base so if UA takes away our flights ATL is dead.

As car as the CHQ leaves that one is strange my guess Is DL has a big block hour pull down in JAN and FEB and the company doesn't want to pay pilots to sit around. Again this is only for CAs as They are short on FOs because of the upgrades.

Chance of getting republic as a new hire on the 170 is slim right now we are parking the 190s so we are fat crews for republic 170. People will upgrade so there will be a small trickle of classes but most will go to the Q400 and the others will go to CHQ and S5. With that said only Republic 170 has a DCA and GSO base the ATL has is only Shuttle.

No real reserve rules to speak of. There is no Long or Hot reserve, just short which is a 90 minute callout. The most junior reserve gets used first so once you are senior on reserve, you don't get used. Most junior ATL FO is a 4/25 hire but two above him was hired a year before. Its the most senior base in the system and he was probably lucky to get it.

True but it's only CAs and it's because of the DEN pull down and the 190s going away. They haven't figured out how to place all these displaced DEN pilots. FOs will be absorbed by the Q upgrades but CAS will not......I wouldn't be surprised if they let republic 170 CAs bid the Q because they are fat on the republic side and very short on the Q.

Maybe I'm wrong I don't know I threw it out. The last thing I'm going to do is help out this Sh!t bag airline by allowing them to not pay me for a month. They already dont pay me.......

Are you telling me that if your 25 hour 4 day is cancelled for weather etc you just go without the $1000ish of pay for that time?
Why on earth did you fools agree to that bull****?
Do they at least pay protect you to MMG?

But unless you have a 100 hr line you will not be out all 25 hours because you still have a 75 grnt. Doesn't make it better but it is what it is......
considering out of 2200 pilots less than 300 that voted are still here calling us all fools seems a bit harsh

Masterofpuppets I did an interview there recently and they said they where close to signing a new contract. The guy leading the power point said that they were waiting to hatch out the new captain pay scale so they could sign a new TA. Apparently FO pay has already been agreed upon and union won't allow it till captains get a raise. Any info into that realm of fun?
