I don't know if he knew or not but it sure ticked off all of us as there are 2008 hires sitting reserve in MCI and DEN.
This place has a lot of problems please do your research before you come here. This is just the basic company info to help with General questions.

On the Republic side, if you are the most junior reserve guy, you will get used non-stop as the contract requires the most junior as first out. Once you get a little seniority and can start holding the days off you want, you will no longer get used. I only worked 8 days last month and only 13 days this month. It is true that your report time changes if they assign you something but if not, you are commuting in the day before. Reserve here isn't too bad especially because you don't have hot reserve but a few work rules would be nice (like bidding first or last out). I do have to say that the schedulers treat you better than my last airline and will work with you (if it benefits them). I know my sim partner (who commutes) a lot of times will get scheduling to move his reserve back to a later start so he doesn't lose a day off but it only works if they need the coverage.
Things are better at YX because BE is gone. He was an absolutely unsympathetic tyrant. Now he's Chautauqua's problem.

However to figure out your pay use $23 an hour at 75 hours guarantee and that will be your base minus taxes, deductions, and per diem.
We are short pilots across the board some aircraft are shorter than others and some bases are shorter than others. Take it for what it is worth.

The amount of res use is all over the place. There is no uniformity. The outstation dudes do a lot of repo'ing. The hub res play patchwork. If you're jr on res, you'll be used and abused until you're not useful to them. If you're sr you can usually be left alone. I am pretty sr on res. I credited 50 hrs in September, and 36 in October. This past month I actually had a line. I am sure you can get the picture. I hope this can help your decision. Res sucks at this place. Unless you live in base! Then you just have to get a side job!

When I was a senior RSV at Republic, I was away from home more than when I was junior. My base was properly staffed and most others weren't. I would constantly get the 1.5 hr callout to deadhead to an outstation base & sit reserve, often for 3-4 day stretches. Other than the per diem, it sucked. I never credited more than 80hrs, while junior pilots to me credited 90.

::SUCK:: Yes I love the short call out to go spend 3-4 days as an out of base res at the CMH hotel! I had that a couple months ago! What a waste!

As a Denver based E-190 FO facing year number FIVE here here's what I've hot to say about my experience here.
Being an RAH pilot is directly comparable to being a poor, seasonal, migrant worker of the airline industry.
Having been involuntarily did aced twice, I am now looking displacement number three with the reduction if 190's here in Den. There is absolutely ZERO stability, in this company. I am doing everything, and I mean EVERYTHING I can to get to a better carrier. Take it for what it's worth.
