So potential new hires should be showered with all the positive information, but everyone should keep mum regarding:
Not a knock on you or your pilot group, but why would you want to promote these working conditions to pilots in the job market? Your post sounds like it came straight from HR. And a huge stack of resumes at HR is validation/endorsement of the poor pay and even worse work rules.
Hell, your own union has a website telling people not to apply there. So, there's that.
- flying mainline-scale airplanes (e.g., E190) for turboprop wages
- $20,000 training contract
- lack of cancellation pay. weather? mtc? rescheduled? sorry, no paycheck.
- paying for your own hotel while you're in training if you're not based where the training occurs
- etc etc etc

Im no rah advocate, but at least use facts. There is no training contract for the 145 and Q. There is pay protection for any reschedule that occurs. If there is a cancellation that causes a reschedule, you're pay protected for that as well. Ive had at least a dozen cancellations in my time and only lost pay one time. The huge majority of cancellations result in reschedule to something as simple as a deadhead since we dont focus on just one hub. ANY reschedule is pay protected. I have no clue where you're getting the hotel thing. Ive been to training many times and never paid a cent for a hotel. None of the training was in my base. There are lots of things to trash, so there is no need to make things up.

To the OP;
First of all thanks for taking the time for the detailed writeup.
Few questions:
1) I have heard different views about a training contract, some say there is still a 2 yr training contract, some say there isn't one, some say it is for 170's.
2) Is the hiring bonus still there??
3) How flexible is the hiring dept in terms of TT/ multi time.??
4) Does someone with times like 900/140, will have a shot at getting hired?
5) Does the applicant/new hire pick which cert/airframe or is it assigned to him?
Can you shed some light Pls.

1) the company memo stated that only the EJETS will have a 2 yr training contract. No that doesn't include the 140/145.
2) there is still a signing bonus
3) total time is probably more important than multi time in your case.
4) you never know until you apply. My guess is they'd want you to have close to ATP mins but who knows because they're having trouble filling seats.
5) take what best matches your needs. I assume its your first 121 gig. I would say take what is easiest for you to get to work because you might be stuck there for a long time. And possibly on reserve.
I suppose the union website is off limits for the sake of this thread. I'll be nice!

One point on the reschedule; if you're scheduled for a 4+30 turn, and it is cancelled and you're rescheduled for a 2+20 turn, are you telling me you still get paid 4+30 like every other airline? Or do you lose over two hours of pay?

In that case 4+30. Reschedule =greater pay of old or new assignment. Straight up cancel =no pay. Sandy came through, cancelled two days of flying for me without me getting reassigned to something else= lost two days pay....if they had as much as deadheaded me somewhere during that time
Period it would have been a reassignment and I would have gotten paid.
