Republic Airways as a New Hire
#133
I haven't been on an interview in about 6 years. In fear of losing my current job I applied at Compass and Republic. Don't ask me why Republic I have no clue.
Compass: positive space and hotel on them the night before.
Republic: told they could get me an SA pass but it would be tough and I have to be in IND from 0830 to 0500 and will miss all my flights home. They offer no hotel at all.
I think I'm passing on the republic interview.

Good for you sir! You can see what this place is like just from that treatment there. It is a small wonder why this company is having trouble putting butts in seats. They treat their potential employees just like they treat their actual employees! Thank you for posting that compairison. I hope more people get to compare and contrast.

However, in the interest of providing correct information, I know three people who interviewed recently. All were positive spaced and the only one who was not provided with a hotel was for an off-site interview...i.e. not Indy.
Now, like I said, the place is total circus, and this could very well change from day-to-day or recruiter-to-recruiter. This company will screw a crew member just for the sake of doing so, and I suppose interviewees are held in only slightly better regard; so I'm not doubting what you were told.

I was like ahhhh ok well I'll make my own way to the interview. "Oh great then we don't have to worry about that"
Then she's telling me to take the shuttle to some hotel blah blah blah. So then I asked "oh do we stay in that hotel the night before?"
She's like well you can but we don't pay for any hotels.
At this point my mind was made up.
I'm not trying to talk bad about Republic, just passing on how different it was between 2 companies.
I also realize that many airlines don't pay for hotels. But trying to talk me out of them giving me even an SA ticket was a real turn off.

Wish I could say it wasn't true. But ya the HR lady said "well we can try to give you SA but with the loads these days it's very hard".
