Management and the union are worlds apart. We just got a new mediator, but we are being told that will not mean starting over from the beginning. Company says our peer group is one set of carriers and then has a completely different peer group used to define their compensation.
I would not be shocked to find us under the same contract a year from now.

Not done. Not close. We meet once every 60 days or so. Just got a new mediator. Corporate is afraid of CBA amalgamation so they are waiting for F9 sale to complete before signing a deal (probably other reasons too). I expect with holidays approaching and the length of time required to get lawyer approval, advertise, roadshow, vote, tally votes and implement it'll be mid 2013 at earliest. Company is offering between a 2% raise to 2003 rates and a pinnacle plus 2%. Nowhere close to agreement on any articles or even principles like trip trading or displacements unless you believe the company website.
We've met about 6 times this year for 1-3 days. After this meeting our next meeting is in Dec. We are as close now as in April of '07.

Management keeps spewing the lie that our proposal will lead to bankruptcy. Their proposal shows no increase in work rules with payrates just below Compass. Just to show how far apart we are.
