Real Deal on Republic Hiring

I'm not "in the know". But I can say they are filing most classes they advertise to the union. I've heard of some people quitting right before the checkride. I guess reasons are numerous. Some felt unprepared for the checkride. The training manager quit in early July and I've heard from some instructors that things are still in chaos. Also we've heard a few people quit when they found out how the company is operated and once they figured out they'd barely clear 20k net for the next 5+ years.
So, overall I'd say no, we aren't having a shortage of applicants. But our net change in pilots is about +10 in the last three months because we've lost about a pilot a day quitting this dump.

Hmmm, that's about $50/hr with about 970 hours for the year. Seems a little far fetched to me for an FO at any year. Yeah, you might pull in that 200% pay, but not for an entire year and for the entire month. Per diem doesn't count either.

You'd be surprised what rigs/vacation/buddy bidding LCA schedules can do. I guarantee you some ExpressJet, Air Wisconsin, and Skywest FOs made that plus some last year.

There is alot of misinformation in this thread. It seems people are skewing the numbers to make a point.
Realisticly, a topped out FO grosses @ $40-47K.
Average attrition in the past 6 months has been near 18/mo and is accelerating slightly.
FO's who are willing to take first available are around 200 numbers closer to upgrade than they were 6 months ago.
The 145 is junior on the CA side
The Q and 170 is junior on the FO side
Newhires are moving up quickly and are holding lines in select bases and equipment.
Newhires cannot expect to upgrade quickly. In my oppinion, I would be suprised to see it longer than 4 years.

Even topped out its hard to make over 40k. You would have to credit over 90hrs/month and earn full per diem. In a lot of bases, that just isn't possible. I don't know anyone who has made 47k as an FO at RAH. Some Captains, but no FOs.

Im at year 6 pay at ASA (XJET), my pay is $44.21/hr, I fly an average of 80 hrs or so a month during the year (some with vacation im credited at 75, and others up to 90 on occasion) I dont live to work and I enjoy my time off. My W2 (line 1) was $44,000 for 2011. And I thought my pay was low...!
Its crazy that working your ass off at RAH and people are calling it almost unattainable to net over $40k/year topped out. I hope y'all get a much better contract (with cancellation pay!) soon.
I hope this industry collapses on itself and we become "rare" lol.
