Three months off this board, I get on for ten minutes and read such garbage -- I come out swinging!
I know several Republic guys (all FO's and all Tier 3). My best friend is at the tail end of the 2008 group. While they are a bitter, angry, disgruntled group, I have never heard them say one bad word about each other, regardless of the certificate they are on. These tier 3 guys are almost all 2007 hires and now going into their sixth year of eating BB's, Eichen's, NMB's, FAPA’s, and the IBT's foul smelling garbage for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They call themselves the $36.62 club not with pride but with disgust. They have taken everything this industry had to offer and survived. After being dumped on by nearly everyone in the industry, being called scabs by keyboard commando’s, furloughed, displaced (some five times times), many on reserve for five years, took it up the back side as Lynx guys hired two years behind them went above them in the SLI and receiving little support from anyone on this board or the industry-- Sorry but I could not sit back and shut up when I read the slams above.
The $36.62 Club has stuck by their union who has failed them, worked for company leadership that has screwed them, trusted an impotent government who has ignored them, and watched as their peers spewed insults regarding their character and morals. Given all of this they voted for the strike to make the industry and their lives better despite their financial circumstance, and the company offering to “give them a raise”.
The $36.62 club has experienced every lousy thing about this industry except bankruptcy (and that may not be far off). Regardless of the certificate, they have leaned on each other, supported each other, the industry, and the pilot group at every turn to pay their dues. When the magical day comes that they move on -- the Tier 3, $36.62 Club Republic FO's will have paid their dues one and all, and done it with distinction.
By the way – the first Tier 3 - $36.62 club member got a six year upgrade in the last round. I am certain someone will certainly say he did not deserve it, stole the flying, had an affair with his mother and is suspected of being on America’s Most Wanted.
OK Children – My rant is over -- Carry on with your slandering and arrogance.

What ever, chautauqua is the funnest callsign to say ever. All day long I hear controllers having fun saying it different ways or saying it dramatically.
And our badges are red because we are the red-headed step-child of the Republic Holdings conglomerate!
Its also the color of our butts after sitting in the airplane for 14 hrs a day, everyday.
