You don't have to explain yourself. While i would not cross a picket line, I would not not take a job just because someone else would be better off. While yes it's nice to help fellow pilots out, but the truth is also that we are competing against each other for these jobs.

I especially have a lot of respect for the FO's over on the CHQ side who are senior enough to upgrade on other certificates, but instead remain right seat. They are also seeing a lot of disrespect from the 170 guys... I find that appalling, to be honest.

??? If they are senior enough to upgrade, why don't they? As a senior 170 FO who could upgrade to the Q or the 145 now, I must say that I don't see disrespect being given to anyone wearing a red, blue, or grey badge.

And there is no disrespect by "170 guys". Our three certs are about tight as I've seen. Blowing smoke..
