living with in two hours would probably work, you really dont get that many short call outs. plus you have 45 minutes from report to departure so you could probably drive fast and still get out on time. if you can drive to a base it might be worth it but flying forget it find some other place to work.

The question is , do you want the job or not?.. When I interviewed RG asked 'what if we assign you BUF base?' .. my response was 'I'd still commute'.. Commuting is what you make of it.. If you can move, certainly live in the base.. If you cannot commute , make the best out of it.. This was the advice given to me by a NW 747 retired guy who has always commuted..

I just sat 5 days of reserve with no call. I think that makes 7 days so far this month with no call and 7 left to go. I also think I've never broken guarantee while on rsv here. Closest I've ever gotten was 74:26.
