PIT is a rumor. The official word from the company is DEN, IAD and EWR. As always things are subject to change.

My money is on the good Reverend telling the pilots they'll have to take pay cuts.

It wasn't the money. It was the conditions of the DIP loan from delta. Although I imagine RAH can't do it as cheap as colgan and they will probably loose money in the long run.

I suspect that Colgan was losing money in the end (a combination of the rates negotiated by management and the contract...even as sh*tty as that is, soon to be was). One things for sure, the rates at RAH are going to SUCK. I hate to see it, but they'll have the same crap forced down their throat that we had forced down ours: A Turbo-prop pilot will NEVER make as much as a jet pilot. I suspect the rates will be very close to to old Lynx rates.

- 10% Thanks FAPA/RAH

Doesn't the pilot group have to ratify the pay rate? Upgrades are tempting I guess. One step closer to having a foot out the door especially when most other regionals are shrinking. Rock and a hard place....

The company can introduce new equipment and our contract specifies a timeline for establishing new pay rates. The problem with the Q400's is that the Lynx Q's were transitioned to Republic PRIOR to integration. Lynx CA's kept their seats (while going through new hire basic indoc for Republic), even though the new aircraft should have fallen under the native RAH contract's provision for new equipment. I.E. Systemwide vacancy bid and a fixed timeline for establishing new payrates.

Then integration (SLI) occurred and we have been fed "the Q400's are going away" for a few years now. While there is a grievance being heard (hopefully soon) on the Q400 issues, the issue was not a hot button topic until the Q400's meant grown. <smack your hand on your forehead>

To make matters worse, the Q400's are currently being operated at Republic Airlines (callsign "brickyard"), by pilots that are being paid Lynx -10% pay rates (for CA's). Lynx no longer exists and the planes are being operated at this company by pilots on our seniority list. Lynx's rates were published in their employee handbook which no longer has any bearing on today's operation. It's pretty ridiculous.

Our union has been working on the Q400 issues for a while now, but it appears the NMB and the arbitrator are only willing to maintain a glacial pace to resolve these issues.

Since the company is unilaterally imposing Lynx -10% CA payrates, virtually every 145 CA will be unable to bid over to the Q400.

I'm all for growth and upgrades, but we had the rape the dead carcass of Colgan to do it while accepting substandard pay and disregard for contractual rights.

PS - Thank FAPA for the Q400 pay concession

Lynx -10%, so what are the actual pay rates in dollars? (Or Yen, if you prefer).

6th year pay (Lynx contract with FAPA concessions) tops out at $56/hour. Only people who can bid it are FOs because CAs cannot bid a lesser paying position.

FO pay tops out at $36.62/hour on the RAH contract for year 4. Seniority that can hold the position is 5th & 6th year FOs. So they go from topped out 4th year pay to topped out 6th year pay until a new rate is negotiated.

RAH has been in contract negotiations for 5 years. I hope new pay rates come sooner.

That's crap. Why would anyone want to go work there? I am making the same in my second year here at XJT. Pathetic.
