Of course JSH. They are gonna get their 1000 TPIC in one year and will be at Fedex the next day. They can go 1 year without that raise since the pay at Purple will make up for it....

I say stick to your guns guys and gals. If they are willingly offering this then if it does drag out another year (god forbid) then the legacy's will start to hire causing more bleeding and in the end you will win the day as they have to pay your worth.
We too are about to start the hard fight for our new contract but the leverage is slowly turning in all our favor so don't shrug it off. Better days are on the horizon just hold out.

No wonder pilots have never been able to get anything right in the past 30 years. Too dependent on a contract that management always finds a way to circumvent. Take what they give you and get them when you can...

A contract is a promise that can be circumvented by bankruptcy court.... not an easy or quick process. An unsolicited raise is a promise that can be circumvented anytime. If one does not see the difference, one is a fool.

She sailed away on a sunny summer day
On the back of a crocodile
"You see," said she, "he's as tame as tame can be,
I'll ride him down the Nile."
The croc winked his eye as she bade them all goodbye
Wearing a happy smile
At the end of the ride, the lady was inside,
And the smile was on the crocodile!

Guys, just a word of caution. Even though this arbitrary pay raise may make first year pay more attractive, please know that this airline has furlough'd three out of the past four years. The ONLY reason there was no "imposed" furlough last fall (2011) was due to the fact there were an overwhelming number of us willing to take a voluntary furlough just to get out if here if only for a few months!
Before you leave a good job, please do you research here! Be prepared to be treated like seasonal migrant workers. It doesn't benefit me to post this info, I'm just trying to make fellow pilots aware of how this place operates. Best of luck to us all!
