Default Republic

What are the chances of a new hire at Republic getting CLE or PIT? Are these two fairly junior? Would love to fly for Republic and be based in one of these two cities. Any and all info is appreciated.

Depends on what cert you are hired into. CLE is a CHQ base and I don't think they are hiring. However, if you get a Republic class you would probably get IND or CMH starting out, but could get PIT fairly soon thereafter.

RAH can read your mind. Knowing you wanted a CHQ or RPA base, they'd no doubt put you on the Shuttle side!!

Ouch! That would stink, but wouldn't be a deal breaker whatsoever.

Unless you really REALLY need a pay check, i suggest you look else where. There is a strike vote here and the its getting down to the wire with the contract mediator. As a new hire, you'll be put on probation for a year (if memory serves me correctly). If the union strikes...you'll either be fired or be a scab. Neither is good, but being fired is at least respectable. At any rate, you'll be right back at the beginning interviewing with another airline...if youre lucky.

I have nothing to gain by encouraging you to stay away, just speaking pilot to pilot.

Look elsewhere if you can.

Holy cow. I had no idea things had escalated to that point. I guess I've had my head in the sand lately. Well this is a kick in the gut. I definitely don't want to be a scab so I guess I'll just sit tight where I'm at now and wait for the storm to subside. Thanks for the info.

if he was on probation ....and they struck...yes he would be fired most likely...HOWEVER..... part of the strike settlement would be to bring back without prejudice all pilots in that situation.
