I'd be VERY cautious about taking a job here at this point in time. The changes just announced could really hurt any new hires. They may bring some people on right now, but now that we are losing the remaining 145s, 170s, and Q400s for frontier combined with the remaining CO 145s coming offline in august, i'd be prepared for a sizeable fall furlough. They'll hire and keep everyone through the summer, but once the annual fall reductions are announced, they will definitely furlough. Don't feel safe because furloughs aren't announced the same time we take the planes offline.

Everything Flyguy has said is ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! This airline will hire until it furloughs. RAH has furloughed twice in the last three years always in the fall. Please be very careful before leaving your job to come here. Best of luck everybody.

Just read all 18 pages! Just talked to my former employer this week (135/91 operation) and he is looking for a Citation driver, no type required, $65K to start and he is having a hard time finding candidates! He is going to have to raise the starting pay!

Glad I stayed away from the s#*t hole airline industry!

And BTW...can you clarify for me what you mean by that? I'm curious as it doesn't appear to support the arguments made by many RAHbros on this board or the negotiating position of your NC. Your use of it jumped out at me a few days ago and I've been pondering why ever since. Figured I might as well ask.
Without hijacking this thread it is my way of saying that all Jet aircraft need to be flown by mainline and scope needs to be retaken. The horrific pay we all get to fly these "regional" jets is awfull and needs to stop. The only way this industry is going to get better is if mainline flies all the equipment and regionals die.

ORD is the most Senior base next to DEN. There are 40 more pilots in ORD as opposed to DEN so it is a little easier to get into. ORD is very top heavy so if upgrades ever start again it will empty out pretty quick. You would probably not get it straight out of the school house but within a year? maybe?

Perfectly said! That statement alone tells me you "get it" which is not the norm on this board. You just scored a boat load of respect on my part. Best of luck to you.
