Don't come to republic not until we get a decent contract especially on the FO side right now management is finding every which way to get over on pilots.
Sure the the 170-190 is nice but at end of the day it's just a plane. We're hiring because people are bailing out. Just Sayin'

Question: RAH has just come out with a new bid...lots of E145 Capts And a fair number of FO openings.
Anyone know the status of the E145 flying? I had heard that all of the Continental Cle flying goes away this year. Is there any truth to this rumor? Also is there any word as to the Ord AAL flying in the E135's?
Any info regarding the future flying would be helpful.
My thanks in advance.

If you're thinking about coming here based on the stability of the flying, keep in mind it's a regional

I will comment even though I don't work at Republic. However, I know a lot of guys that do. Yes much of the 145 flying is on the block to be discontinued. However, you have to understand the make up of their pilot group in order to understand the openings and understand the fact they have to cover the flying until it goes away.
From what I understand the CHQ schedules are by far the worst of all the Republic certificates with short turns, lots of day trips. early shows and late releases, and for the most part uncommutable pairings. Many CHQ captain have wanted onto other certificates but have been locked in. Other CHQ Captains have been on reserve for years. The company has played with the displacements for so long there is finally some hope for these Captains to get to S5 and Republic.
Add the unknown of how many Midwest guys are coming back and how many times they can bi-pass the recall, and it is a complete cluster in terms of how many true upgrades are going to occur at Republic.
Now you add in the fact that the Lynx guys blew away the seniority of the the bottom fifteen percent of the true RAH FO list and you have 4 and 5 year FO's sitting reserve in places like Denver and Kansas City.
Everyone I know at Republic except the top 500 (lifers) is looking to get out. They are headed out of the industry, corporate gigs, Qatar, Emirates, it really does not matter -- they just want out. If the numbers above or true, (and I believe they are) 450 hires this year is probable due to the incredibly horrible, long term low QOL, low pay, and in-fighting between the pilot groups. The guys are just leaving -- they are running to any part of the world they can get to. I hear a group of 50 or more are headed to Emirates this spring.
Republic was the shining star of regional airlines perfotmers four years ago. Now it is truly a flying circus which lacks vision, direction, a strategy and financial reserves. All of this may get solved with the spin off of Frontier, but it is going to be a long way back to being anything other than a bottom feeder. If the management team finally realizes the importance of a content pilot group, if they can cash in on the F9 spin off, and if they get a new TA, Republic could become what they once were and going there could be a great gamble due to the massive resignations -- however that it is a lot of "Ifs"
Good luck on your decision -- but I would caution you to tread softy. Ask some of the 5 year FO's going to the Middle East not because they want to but because they are doomed to making $37 an hour for the foreseeable future, no upgrades in site for years, flying with a bunch of lifers as their captains who have no intention of moving on as they are making $100K+ with great schedules, and no contract in sight for probably years. Republic is a very sad place right now, but that is cyclical. Look at AE -- sad, happy, sad -- that is the way of things in being a regional airline pilot.

I'm a captain at Chautauqua. I've been here for 5 years and have been on both the Republic cert flying 190's in DEN and the Chautauqua cert sitting rsv. What Airborne Pegasus said describes the situation at this company PERFECTLY. Read his words carefully; over and over again.
