I am in the class on the 25th as well- quick questions:
Is it worth driving up to have a car during training? if i don't is there access to laundry and somewhere to get a few essentials? Should I brush up on/study anything other than regs prior to training? Should I try to non rev home between indoc and FSI (4th July holiday wkend), or save myself the aggravation (if I have my ID)? Any other general tips to keep the experience snag free and successful are greatly appreciated.

If you are starting on the 25th you wont have an ID before the 4th. I am not sure where they are having you stay now, but when I went through, a while back I wish I had a car. It would make life very different for you.
Good luck. Welcome to the circus.
They are calling me on all my days off for overtime. We don't have enough reserves. You will be used...and abused

There are 2 classes starting on the 25th. One at Shuttle and one at Republic both for the E170.
As far as hotels everyone seems spread out, but all the hotels are in the same area. Hotels are willing to do a weekly trip to Walmart for you, or with enough people will take you when you want.
As far as EFB, it's no longer in use. You will be carrying your manuals and jepps. Shuttle however is approved for Kindle use for the manuals, they plan on issuing kindle fires soon. After the kindle fires are in use on the line at shuttle the plan is to do the same at Republic and Chautauqua.
One nice thing I didn't know, company issues you 3 two inch leather jepp binders and 1 one inch jepp binder when you get your plates. Kinda nice since my last airline I purchased jepp binders as they were not issued.
As far as ID's, you won't have them for at least a month. I know people who didn't get theirs till OE so unfortunately no CASS although you do get Nonrev benefits right away
