Default 9.F Return

Returning to republic (spirit pilot) anyone have experiance with returning and can shed light on how training works? How difficult will it be to deal with company to secure the right seniority?

There are already guidelines for all of that which are all strictly based on how long you have been off property……. which you failed to mention.

silly me coming to this forum for actual experiences vs what is written. I have read the contract I see the guidelines, my question was about the execution. There are some legalese in that section and was wondering if anyone had run into any problems.

OK sillly you. The company is basically ignoring 9F. If I ever run into someone here who they've let back I'll let you know

Also a furloughed Spirit guy, returning to RPA. Are you going back as a FO or a DEC? What I was told is its going to be a tailored accelerated style of training for us coming back. If your within one year off property you will get your seniority back.

Friend was denied a return

Don't know how I feel about it.
I know I would want the safety of knowing I could leave and come back keeping seniority
But , since it's not me, I don't like that people can come back and bump me.
I get why the company would be for it, they don't care about my seniority
But the union should since I'm the one here, paying the dues
Just mho

That's a reasonable position. I would put forward that one thing the clause might do to benefit you is encourage more people above you to move on, knowing they have a one year safety net. Assuming more stay gone than come back, your seniority would be better off.

C5 had a similar clause and the numbers returning were far less than those leaving. They are a less desirable employer than Republic but I still think the example holds.
