Don't know how I feel about it.
I know I would want the safety of knowing I could leave and come back keeping seniority
But , since it's not me, I don't like that people can come back and bump me.
I get why the company would be for it, they don't care about my seniority
But the union should since I'm the one here, paying the dues
Just mho

its good for republic and that's why they sold it to the membership
republic gets back known people that they liked and hired before. that they trained before. they spend way less money on them than street hires
they can block anyone they want. its a great deal for the co which is why the co loves it
union allowing them to keep seniority is bs imo. especially since the union limited it to one year. just another way to screw new hires. they could have done it for all 5 years but voting members would not agree to that because it effects them so they didn't go to 5 years. same way were not vesting until many years. or the stipend instead of salary for the first month. the contract was created to protect sr employees and get there votes while helping the co hurt new hires
question - if you leave daddy d for aa do you get to come back?
