What I meant was we have many CA & FO that would love to have a base west of Chicago.

It's always been that way and believe me when I say this, Republic does not care. Even when they were doing classes of 100 a month, they did not care to open up a base further west to increase the flow of applicants. Rumor had it that United wanted them to open back up Denver during the hiring wave and Republic told them no because United would only guarantee them a year of flying, Republic wanted 5.

Closing Kansas City was hugely unpopular in the pilot group as many senior pilots were from there. Republic and The Reverand does not care.

How unpopular would closing a base after a year have been?

That "rumor" came from one of the C-level foks who visited my indoc class during this type of "what do you think about future bases" discussion. This is exactly what he told the class.

Exactly. Particularly in a base that would have been VERY popular with the senior folks.
