LGA is my top choice. Bad idea?

Getting close to my class date and determining what my base rank will be and want to be sure I'm not missing something. LGA right now is my top choice which I know makes people's head spin, but want to be sure I'm not missing some big item that could drastically impact QOL. I don't plan to commute so whatever base we choose/I get assigned, we're going to uproot and head that way.
Pros
1. Quickly off reserve, quick upgrades? I assume this to be true since everyone hates it. And thus quickest path to major?
2. Higher chance of flying more and picking up time since most not living there.
3. EWR right there as another alternative for trips.
4. I don't plan to commute, but do plan to utilize the travel benefit to visit family/friends back home and have fun with it. JFK, EWR, LGA to choose from, so should be pretty easy.
5. Probably the biggest pro: girlfriend makes good money and wants to go experience the city so she's excited for NY in particular.
6. Already have a couple friends there so the social life transition would be marginally easier.
Cons
1. Expensive
Are my assumptions relatively accurate? Anything else I should consider?

Yep. You're spot on. For people that live in/near NYC, LGA is a great place to be based. For all the reasons you have said.
You'll always have opportunities to pick up flying, you'll get used on reserve, be in the right spots to pick up premium pay when they offer it.
You'll fly plenty. Upgrades are quick everywhere, and believe it or not LGA is not currently our junior CA base, but they're all pretty junior except for ORD.
There is so much movement right now; it's a great time to be coming on board.
