They won’t do that. With the exception of a few lifers at every company, the regionals are staffed by people willing to endure their time at the regionals to gain marketable experience and move onto better paying jobs. The companies that they eventually want to work for require proof of vaccination as a condition for employment.

The vast majority of pilots got vaccinated because they wanted to. Their principles lead them to realize that the risk from covid far outweigh those from the shot. Many of those voicing the loudest opposition about the mandates are already vaccinated but they’re against a mandate.

They could, but there seems to be more bad corporate gigs than good ones , part 91/135 jobs typically aren’t that stable, and flying for a regional is about the fastest way out there to really crank out the hours and build a resume.

My “principles” were the same as most, to be financially safe, get vaccinated incase it becomes a mandatory requirement. Honestly I never figured our own government would pull this socialist like stunt, but I figured every socialist/communist country I flew into would require it, so I got it done early.

So is there a significant number of regional pilots who are opposed to the vaccine that plan on being regional lifers? Pretty much all of the top pay companies that regional pilots seek to gain employment from require the applicant to be fully vaccinated as a condition for employment consideration. I suppose that some will choose not to get vaccinated, just like some choose not to get a degree, and then complain for years about how everyone else gets hired at desirable companies.
