To the best of my knowledge, our pre-COVID high water mark was 2502, which I believe we officially surpassed on the December seniority list. And that number was planned staffing for the Compass airframes. While I don't think we're there yet, I also don't think we're as far off from being able to staff additional airframes as others might, at least based on total numbers on property. The real issue is going to be whether we have enough CAs. This is the second month in a row we haven't filled all our CA vacancies (this month it was 36 out of 60 filled), which is the clearest sign yet that we have a lot of FOs who either don't have the FAA or contractually-required times to upgrade, and/or don't want to give up their existing position for an upgrade. We have a lot of each, and it's going to be something the company struggles with. Good leverage for the pilots, especially if the company comes asking to reduce our 2500 TT upgrade requirement. We have a lot of R-ATPs who aren't currently eligible because of that contract provision.
What is the 2500 Tt rule? Is that with the company or total time?

How quick can you get your 1000 SIC and 2500TT? If you're trying, probably 15 months once you hit the line.

Figure 60 hrs a month until you are off reserve (average 4-months or less depending on base). Then about 85 per month flying your butt off. Estimated 13 months (remember you can’t go over 1000 TT in a rolling 365 days). So if you add Date of Hire to being released after IOE that is about 3-4 months. Date of Hire to upgrade TT Eligible 16-18 Months Assuming you came in with 1500TT. If you come in with RATP (1000TT), then add another 6-8 months on top of the 16-18, so 22-24 months from Date of Hire.

Just a curious question. I know if one comes in with an RATP either military or aviation degree they still are required to have 2500 TT which seems like they are behind the curve. However since it is just TT would it ever be wise to rent an aircraft and fly around on your days off to achieve more TT?

Better off picking up an overtime trip, getting paid extra, and still logging the hours. The days of you paying to log flights is over when you start part 121. Unless it is a rental for fun/vacation.
