Default Monthly Trips

What does a typical month look like? How many trips/days per trip, etc...

If someone wanted to do the minimum, what would that look like?

Thanks!

75 hours is the minimum you can bid for. What that translates to days off wise varies depending on seniority. I'm bidding about 30% in base, I always bid 75 hours, and average 17-19 days off. When I was junior, I still usually averaged ~15 days off at 75 hours. You can bid any trip length you feel like. I live in base, so I bid day trips or high credit 2-day's and leave the longer ones for commuters.

Do you have PBS or do you bid for individual trips?

We have PBS, and the ability to bid for specific trips. Bidding specific trips is mostly useless until you get enough seniority to do so.

how much seniority do you need to bid specific trips (FO/CAPT)?

Also - how far out is too far out to apply? If I'm not available for training until next Summer, when should I apply?

What is junior? i.e. when could i expect the 17-19 days off option?

Part of the issue with these types of questions is we just don't know. It's worthless to take the situation now and assume it will be the same going forward.

Our upgrade times are dropping to roughly 18 months. There are plenty of FOs who haven't taken a first available upgrade, so it's really hard to say and completely base-dependent to figure out when one might be in the top 30% or so.

I've been on property almost a year (and on the line for about 5 months) and I'm bidding at like 85% in IAH, but that's partly because IAH goes so senior. I'd be like 60% in LGA, EWR, and PIT, and 50% in BOS and SDF when they open.
