Dig up AC 61-136B and look up logging ATD time in Appendix D, section 3. Make you own decision from there, but tread very carefully.

I'll have to dig deeper. The notes for that AC say:

This AC applies only to the evaluation and use of BATDs and AATDs. This notice does not apply to full flight simulators (FFS) and flight training devices (FTD) that are regulated under 14 CFR part 60.
The system we had was certified as a FTD if I recall correctly, so I'll have to find an AC that applies to that.

Thanks!

Update*

I got the 141 Level 6 FTD time approved. Bring the LOA to back yourself up.

At our 141 school our FTDs had a letter from the FSDO that stated exactly what lessons could be logged on it and how many hours. Anything outside of this could not be logged.

Does anyone know if military simulators used in training at UPT qualify toward ATP time?

Was the training conducted under parts 121, 135, 141 or 142? I don't think that the military cares about any of those parts, so I doubt it, but you could ask the examiner/FSDO and see if they're more liberal.
