The staffing outlook is as worthless then the 5 cent piece of paper it is printed on, always have been. If you want to know which bases are shrinking to support the two new bases, just look at which bases are getting zero back-fill to the FOs who are upgrading and it is not that hard to figure out cough cough ORD cough.

This is not a secret, but Republic has constantly opened and closed bases for many years. The only exceptions would be IND, CMH and PIT. Although the NYC area is probably safe now. If this is a problem for you then do not go there. You will be very upset. The shiny 175's won't mean anything when you are commuting.

With 13 bases now, I’m not saying they won’t close any in the future. Honestly, 13 seems a bit too many. But regardless of what people want to say on here, the outstation model is cheaper AND it’s a recruiting tool. There’s many people that want to live in these cities that offer a great QOL with low cost of living.
To come out of left field and say YX opens and closes bases “constantly” just shows you’re clearly out of the loop. There hasn’t been a base closure since the 145/Q400 days.

I have an opportunity for Skywest and Republic. I want ORD or LGA and each of them offer up something.
If you wanted ORD or LGA what is the better bet for moving off reserve and getting senior pretty quick?
Neither would have me commuting, own places in both.

Scroll down a couple more threads.
Lga is stupid junior. I think the FO’s come with pacifiers still. Same with CA upgrade.
Chicago will take longer and I believe Chicago CA is 15-20 years to hold a line.
