There sure are a lot of Blue Streaks (PSA) on the radio in CLT. Seems like that’s their territory. Similarly, if you asked me if I think Republic would ever open a base in DFW, I would say that’s Envoy’s territory. Then again, Mesa, a contract regional just like us, has a pretty big base there.

Why is that? That's economic vitality brought to the area. I think the Dip sh!ts from the port authority and TSA don't have mental capacity to understand that they serve the traveling public, and those that conduct business to serve that demand.

Realistically, how quickly would a new hire get ORD as a base? I live about 45 min from ORD

Within a month or 2 after completing training. Maybe even before. You will most likely not get it in your initial base bid, but you are able to put in a request for a change and it will be awarded based on your seniority and when a spot opens up.

I'm a May 1st hire. I was initially awarded IND in May but got ORD in June. That's the easy answer. The quirky part is this, Republic awards bases 4 month out. So even though I was awarded ORD in June I wont actually be there until October 1st. I emailed the appropriate people and asked could I be moved early. They allowed others to move early to other bases however my request to ORD was denied. It's possible you'll get ORD in your second bid, you may have to wait a couple months after you complete IOE to be there. Overall its not bad.

Also Its worth mentioning that you can always email scheduling a week out and change the base you want to sit reserve. So if you have 4 days of reserve in IND coming up, you can just ask to sit reserve in ORD instead of your actual base, say IND. They've been allowing me to do this with another base pretty often.

So for those 2 months, does Republic do positive space commuting? Apologies if this has already been discussed, some of these threads are exhausting to dig through

Yeah once you hit IOE, getting to work is on you. Folks used to get hotels provided in their base while on IOE, but that isn’t officially allowed anymore. That’s about it.
