First Officer BASE DROPS- Initial and Monthly
Update on AQP. About 40 in our 7/24 class. They chose a small sampling of 8 lucky individuals that got to do a test trial of AQP. No oral, their final “check” is just a LOFT flight and they get to be on the line quicker than the rest of us. They say they expect the entire. training to be AQP by January
Wow. Will be interesting to see how it develops. I won’t start indoc until 8/21 but I’ll be sure to post details as I learn more for y’all.
Thx for the initial heads up.

Yeah. We were told today that their goal is something 500-600 more pilots by the end of the year to keep up with pilots leaving and growing the company. They told us dont be surprised if upgrades are under 2 years for our class

I started 7/10 in a class of ~26 and according to my schedule I'll be ready to go to IOE on 9/27. That's pretty f'ing fast considering the sheer amount of information I'm being asked to process. I almost wish there were more delays so I could come up for air. People told me this would be like learning how to drink from a fire hose. A mere 3 weeks in and only halfway through initial systems I must admit that's an appropriate description of the process.

Considering the sims are running 20 hours a day at both of our training locations with the existing load I think it's fair to say as they bring more people through training the delays will increase beyond systems (i.e. EFPT and sims). However, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I know that feeling. I felt like I was drinking from a fire hose when I got a jet type. Time to rinse and repeat. Hopefully it won’t take longer than four months.
