I'm really wanting CMH. Any idea if that is attainable out of training?

Also, is there any opportunity to move to your base after training ends and before reserve begins?

The most recent staffing outlooks have listed more vacancies in CMH than LGA or EWR. I think it's because many new hires that get awarded CMH their first bid choose to transfer out quickly, and are able to do so.

How is PIT looking as far as holding right out of training and time on reserve?

Not sure because it really doesn’t change much no matter where you ate bases (except MIA, you are not getting in there). All the rest of the bases are held if not by the end of training, within a month or 2 after. Reserve time should not be a consideration on choosing a base as it is low at all the bases considering the company is short on FOs. Don’t expect more than 2 to 4 months of reserve no matter where you are based.

The only day on reserve not filled - today the 31st of May. And I hold a line next month. So today is my first and last day of being a non-line holder FO at LGA.

I wanted LGA because my wife and I wanted to live here and suffice to say I'm pretty happy being here. PM me if you have any questions.

I appreciate the insight - thanks! Starting early August so I might PM you closer to start. Thanks again!

Anyone willing to break down the different types of trips from each base? Was hoping for MIA, but that seems slim so I’ll figure out what bass it commutable from Miami.

Agree, this would help.

Also, what base does what codeshare flying? Besides the obvious MIA, PHL, and EWR.

To my knowledge the remainder of the bases fly for all three except MCI, which presently does AA and UA only, and IAH which does UA and DL only.

The kinds of trips each base gets just tends to shift with the seasons. There isn’t necessarily a set kind of trip per base (though some have more shorter pairings like LGA). There’s not necessarily any geographic significance. Hub bases typically have turns you can drop/trade (flica gods permitting) the first or last day of a trip to make a trip commutable, outstation bases may not.
