These are just initial assignments. People can and do actively bid out of these assignments into bases they prefer within 1-6 months mostly. A few bases take longer. Those that stay inLGA lately are holding lines within a month of hitting the line.
People who keep asking about IAH...no one knows. The base doesn’t even open until July 1.

Do new hires bid every month on property (since indoc) or is the "initial drop" really the first bid out of training / IOE? Reason I ask this is that it would give me some heads-up on whether a crash pad would be required. Fortunately I have a family owned property not far from EWR that would make LGA possible, at least until I could bid out.

Do new hires even get a say in where they're based initially or are people just placed where the company has slots that particular month?

Yes. Your bid is active every month which is why an individual may never spend a day in their initially awarded base.

What are y’all thinking re: timeline at LGA? That’s my preferred base. # Bids to hold a line, seniority as FO / CPT, etc. Still looking super jr? Starting indoc in Aug.
Thanks in advance! These Republic threads have impressively stayed (relatively) on topic and have been incredibly helpful - so thank you for that as well.

The only day on reserve not filled - today the 31st of May. And I hold a line next month. So today is my first and last day of being a non-line holder FO at LGA.
I wanted LGA because my wife and I wanted to live here and suffice to say I'm pretty happy being here. PM me if you have any questions.
