Do new hires even get a say in where they're based initially or are people just placed where the company has slots that particular month?

Do new hires bid every month on property (since indoc) or is the "initial drop" really the first bid out of training / IOE? Reason I ask this is that it would give me some heads-up on whether a crash pad would be required. Fortunately I have a family owned property not far from EWR that would make LGA possible, at least until I could bid out.

Yes. New hires get to bid on what is available. Bidding within a class is based on age. Oldest = most senior.
Yes. Your bid is active every month which is why an individual may never spend a day in their initially awarded base.

Incorrect. Everybody who has wanted ORD since last year has gotten it by the end of training.

For DCA;
How long for a new hire to hold DCA?
How many months reserve before holding a line in DCA?

Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance! These Republic threads have impressively stayed (relatively) on topic and have been incredibly helpful - so thank you for that as well.

I'm new to LGA and started/finished IOE early this month right out of sims. Had 3 weeks of reserve scheduled. Every day of reserve was filled 2-4 days ahead of time with trips. I'm crediting 110 hours this month.

The only day on reserve not filled - today the 31st of May. And I hold a line next month. So today is my first and last day of being a non-line holder FO at LGA.

I wanted LGA because my wife and I wanted to live here and suffice to say I'm pretty happy being here. PM me if you have any questions.
