If I came to Republic I would want EWR as I live reasonably close to it. I've noticed that aside from February awards most people seem to get other bases initially or while in training.

Couple questions:

1) Do new hires bid every month like everyone else while in training? In other words, if initially assigned an unwanted base are there at least a couple opportunities to bid out of that base and into your preferred base before finishing IOE?

2) Earlier in the thread it was suggested that if someone wanted EWR they would be likely to get it. They also said that EWR has gone slightly senior so a line might be 8 months from DOH (perhaps 5 months of reserve given the current 3 month training pipeline). Is this still accurate?

On a side note, I have to say there's a guy at PSA who has been really data-focused and providing very helpful insight into holding a base there. This is one of the most recent postings:

Is there anyone at Republic willing and able to produce a chart like this?

What are y’all thinking re: timeline at LGA? That’s my preferred base. # Bids to hold a line, seniority as FO / CPT, etc. Still looking super jr? Starting indoc in Aug.

Thanks in advance! These Republic threads have impressively stayed (relatively) on topic and have been incredibly helpful - so thank you for that as well.

Usually people try to get away from LGA due to high cost of crashpads. So you will have no problem getting the base out of training or as a CA. Seniority will come quick and reserve time will be minimal.

Best base for an August Indoc new hire? Ideally I would love IAH, but I am being realistic that it won’t be available for a while for junior guys like myself. Will be living in ATL at home for now to save on the $.
