I have heard stories of legacies banning people from these airlines simply because they work there. They will tell you to work somewhere else for a while before interviewing again. YMMV. Good luck!
Lies all lies, they don't care. If one company hired problem pilots who got turned down elsewhere then that would skew the proportions.
For decades everyone went to the first place that hired them. I picked up a jumpseater while back who got hired by AA in between all the flows and military guys, he was a Gojet guy, real nice got his time and got hired.
Guys here just want to establish a pecking order to make themselves feel better.

Considering you're at a 135 you'd get $7500 bonus from Skywest. SkyWest has two bases near you. No flow but that isn't all it's cracked out to be. Under two year upgrade. 1 year 10 month last I saw. Hiring more than envoy and better schedules.
Be careful when looking at upgrade times. You would have to quote the upgrade time for SkyWest west coast base since he lives in Denver. The 2 yr. upgrade is in ORD or DTW I would assume.

And other guys want to rationalize their choice to fly for one of the two worst jet carriers in the industry

Have some respect for yourself and the industry. Fly with a carrier that provides cancellation pay, min day pay, fatigue pay, industry standard rates, and won't use your certificate as a hostage.

I have spent months reading, calling, meeting, and reading some more on all of the regionals, and have narrowed it down to these two. Before anyone posts links to each of the companies' respective threads, I have read each of them in their entirety.

I'm currently flying 135 and looking to break into the 121 game. I've done hours and hours of research on these companies, read all of the threads on this site, newsletters/magazines, talked to recruiters, reached out to pilots at each company, and more. I've done my work, but I'm talking about the non tangibles. I get that QOL isn't the greatest with regionals, but I'm just looking for a little time to give to my Fiancé so she doesn't leave me. My goal is to eventually end up at a major.

I live in Denver, and have family in Dallas. I love Denver and really don't want to move.

Envoy:
-Better pay and better sign on bonus
-Flow
-Training pay is higher
-Looking to hire a lot of pilots this year, thus hopefully moving me up in seniority.
-Slightly better deadhead pay

GoJet:
-Quicker upgrade
-Denver base
-Faster reserve
-Less pay at first
-Slightly better minimum day guarantee

Envoy is ALPA, GoJet is IBT. Not sure if that matters. Both offer hotels for commuters.

Equipment doesn't really mean that much to me, as long as I'm progressing in my career and growing.

I guess I'm asking is commuting worth it for a little more pay and flow, to a maybe slightly more established regional airline, or should I stay home with someone that has a domicile where I want to live?

To those that offer to help, thank you very much. I'm not looking to start a 1700 page thread with arguing, I'm just looking for some advice. Happy New Year everyone!
You spent months and months of research and GoJet is still one of your options? Cmon.

Do you meet the eligibility to upgrade?

Skywest has a DEN base.

Just go to Envoy.

Flow is what it is. People are AA right now simply because of the flow. The more senior guys who got furloughed during 2001 and stagnated during the recession and age 65 bump, are at AA because of the flow. No one ever says I'm going to wait 16 years to go to AA but stuff happens.

Anyways SW is one of the best choices for a NH. If anyone chooses to commute to Envoy over living in base at SW, then they are crazy.

Right now it's hard for me to advise a pilot to choose Envoy while they are commuting. If they can get past the terrible QOL then good luck. But if your other option is GoJet then it's Envoy hands down.
Skywest is currently hiring ~100/month. Just FWI.

Their APC thread says they have everything you just mentioned. How is the OP rationalizing, he stated specifics like DEN base..
Your confusing contract information with personal pride.

To the OP this business is full of a buch of lace drawers rich boys who want to size you up by where you work not who you are. That's what their parents and fraternity taught them to do.
If they do something they don't like, like share a hotel room, "its paying your dues" if you do something like work without fatigue pay, your "disgraceful". Btw I've never made a $1 on fatigue pay, because I've never used it. 100% of people I've witnessed utilizing it, had an alternate agenda.

Go to a wholly owned AA or Delta.

I just don't understand what you're trying to agrue here. Are you seriously recommending that this person work for gojet?? If so then you've lost all credibility

What's the new hire (junior) base at Skywest and the upgrade time as of today? Commuter policy?

DTW/msp/ord in that order on CRJ , any base can be held within 6 months.

ERJ west coast is junior and ORD is more senior, think company is hoping more will move out west because that's where the growth is.

Upgrade time is 1 year 10 months in DTW, around the same in ORD and MSP more senior to the west.

We don't have a commuter policy and I've yet to hear anyone say we need one because they got in trouble, just be able to say you tried.
