Sorry, but all this "brotherhood of pilots" and "we're all in this together" is BS. I and any other pilot does what's best for themselves and their airline. I want $$$$ now and if it takes forcing regional pilots to stay at a regional a little longer to fly larger RJs in order for me to get a pay raise, so be it. Sorry, just the way it is. Nothing personal, just business.

Attrition and getting tier 1 candidates are two separate things. Our lines are shorter at job fairs, and people leave here for legacies to the tune of about 10 a month right now, and no doubt pay is better elsewhere, but I think the hiring stats and profiles of newhires at JB speak for themselves.

No it's not. I've run into many JB pilots on the jumpseat and at the airport and lots of them are wanting to leave for my legacy and any other legacy that will hire them I've never heard of a legacy pilot leaving and going to JB.

I'm a mainline guy. Be happy to fly an RJ. In fact a lot of people here at DAL would. Many enjoy the 717 "regional flying," along with the QOL that comes with it.
Many look forward to the Cseries arrival.
Many guys have been doing international for 10+ years and LOVE being in the same time zone as home +/-2 hours.
I myself would love to see RJs on a mainline cert. will it happen? Probably not, but I'd bid for CRJ900 CA if it means a good schedule and decent pay.
